Statement

I love getting off the computer and going back to fine art as much as I can. I grew up painting my whole life, being taught by my artist grandmother. Lately, my work reflects my personal life, including my two kids and the many reptiles we have as pets. It brings me joy and an escape from reality in this crazy world. I have always loved oils as a medium. However, I found that medium was too high maintenance for me to keep up with as a working mom, and I wasn't painting that much. That brought me to graphite and watercolor, reflected in my recent drawings and paintings. I love how I can return to a watercolor painting at any time without having to worry if the paint dried. I love the vibrancy of the watercolor and the unexpected things it can do. I also love the control and detail I can capture in painting with watercolor.
